Marina Coryat

Marina Angelica Coryat is the Owner of Refined Communications, LLC.

She is an innovative, strategic and results-driven business relations leader

with extensive experience in public affairs and community relations in

corporate, non-profit, and governmental arenas. Marina has a solid track

record to lead and inspire by positively creating strategies, developing

programs and building strong relationships. Some of her experience has

been for organizations such as Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas,

McDonald’s franchise owners, and the City of Houston. 

Her expertise was sought by State Representative Senfronia Thompson to

be on her staff as her Communications Director. She currently serves in the

capacity while overseeing her public relations business and ministry.

Marina was also a political candidate on the November 2019 ballot for

Houston’s City Council and is considering the 2023 City Council race.

In addition to her work, Marina is a Lifetime Member and Ambassador of

the Greater Houston Partnership, the largest chamber of commerce in the

Houston area. Her desire is to see individuals grow to their fullest potential

and reach their destiny. This drives her passion for having served as an

Advisory Board Member for both United Way’s Career and Recovery

Resources, Inc. the Houston Area Urban League (HAUL). She was also

the HAUL Fund Development Chair and was the Co-chair of HAUL’s 49th

Annual Equal Opportunity Day Gala held June 17, 2017. For several

years, Marina was a Mentor for a little boy in the Big Brothers and Big

Sisters program.

In 2018, SunArise International Ministries was founded by Minister Marina

Coryat in Houston,Texas. This ministry was founded to spread the gospel

of Jesus Christ and bring healing. The foundational scripture for this

ministry is Malachi 4:2. Marina hosts a weekly broadcast on Facebook Live

and YouTube to give a word of encouragement to those who a surviving

through the perils of the pandemic and life.

Minister Marina Coryat is a member of the IMPACT Network Global under

the leadership of Apostle John Eckhardt who is her Spiritual Father and

apostolic covering for SunArise International Ministries. Minister Coryat is

a graduate of Kingdom School of Ministry headed by Dr. Cindy Trimm as

well as a graduate of the School of the Prophets under the leadership of

Apostle Debra Ford and Dr. Linda Calloway of Faith International Ministries

who licensed her in ministry on April 23, 2007. Minister Coryat has recently

joined Greater Grace Church-Houston and will be supporting the Kingdom

of God to advance though this local house. She was an active member of

the Windsor Village Church Family for years where she led the 12 noon

prayer altar team, served on the Miracles and Healing Team, as well as the

Deliverance Team. Additionally, she has served in various ministry

capacities at Lakewood Church, Love Ministries Family Church and

Shekinah Throne Room Worship Center and St. Benedict Catholic Church.

Marina holds a Bachelors of Arts degree from Cornell University in Ithaca,

New York. She is pursuing her Master of Communication degree from

Walden University and her anticipated completion is May 1, 2022. Marina is

also a graduate of Leadership Houston, Trimm Institute for Global

Leadership, as well as the Center for Houston’s Future. She has received

numerous awards, including 2016 Top 30 Influential Women in Houston.

In addition to her notable achievements, Marina is the author of her first

book, The Due [Dü] Season. Her book is also available in Spanish as La

Temporada de Cumplimiento.
